Santa Cruz Man Steals Electricity To Grow 132 Marijuana Plants

According to Santa Cruz County Police, a man Stephan Fisher, has been stealing electricity and water to grow 132 marijuana plants in his basement. Sgt. Steve Carney states: "His power bill was like $40 a month when it should have been $1,000 a month."

How did the pothead do this? He switched his meter with a dummy meter stolen from a construction site and the extra energy didn't register.

Now, before you start scouting construction sites in your area, I found out this is illegal. Yeah, it broke my heart too. Dammit.

We Should Drill More In Alaska...For Oil

IMHO not only should we drill for more oil in ANWR but also off the coasts of Florida and California. Alternative fuels should be a part of our energy policy but not the whole solution. No doubt. The American population is not getting any smaller and as the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina showed, we still rely heavily on fossil fuels.

We shouldn't ask other oil producers (OPEC) to boost their production when we can. It's similar to asking your neighbor for a loaf of white bread when you have two loaves of wheat on top of your fridge.

An acre, which is a common measurement of land area, is equal to 43,560 square feet.

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) is 20 million arces. That's almost as big as Michael Moore.

Ladies and Gentlemen...The Fuel Cost Calculator

This may be the greatest invention since porn. It is the Fuel Cost Calculator and it calculates fuel cost around the country. Created by The AAA. That stands for the American Alcoholics Administration. Don't quote me though.

IT IS THE FUEL COST CALCULATOR---LINK

WHAT IS ANWR? PART ONE

ANWR is short for Alaskan National Wildlife Refugee. No, Artic National Wildlife Refuge. Many Republicans and many Americans of both parties want to drill for oil in ANWR. Many Democrats and many Americans of both parties do not want to drill for oil in ANWR. Depending on your point of view, the area designated for drilling is either a barren wasteland or the most magical place on Earth.

ANWR is 19 million acres and supporters of drilling only want a tiny part of about 2000 acres to explore for oil. To date, most amendments allowing for exploration have been voted down by Congress.

As of July 2008, both presidential candidates, Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama both oppose drilling for oil in ANWR.

Wait a minute? Why am I writing about it then? Oh yeah, gasoline is hovering around $4.00 a gallon and looks to go higher. So, which presidential candidate will cave in on this issue?

The following video is pro drilling. The only data it leaves out is how much oil exists in ANWR.

The Energy Information Administration (whoever the hell they are) and President George W Bush have said that ANWR could produce about a million additional barrels of oil or 27 million gallons of gasoline a day.
